Role Overview

This position is based in China, with accommodation and car included. As a Senior Engineer and Team Leader within the CLIPEX global group, you will be responsible for overseeing a locally based, small Engineering and Quality Assurance team in China.

Key responsibilities of Engineering Team Leader - Manufacturing

This is a hands-on role, managing steel fabrication drawing documents, generating working drawings for daily operations, designing production line improvements and overseeing QA processes in line with worlds best practice.

  • Liaise with stakeholders to drive system & process improvements
  • Oversee workflow and output for the local team, collaborating with global stakeholders
  • Partner with IP creators, Production, Plant GM, suppliers
  • Lead production line improvements and product cost reductions, focusing on QA enhancements
  • Lean & Continuous Improvement

Ideal Candidate

  • 10 years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing organisation exceeding A$50 million turnover
  • Solid competency in hands-on designing with SolidWorks
  • Essential innovative design capacity and experience in production line improvement design
  • Experience in steel fabrication drawing document management
  • Team management and QA process adherence skills
  • Experience working within a multinational
  • Experience in Western manufacturing and engineering processes and methods is important
  • Knowledge of production automation
  • Implementation of drawing security and data integrity systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree in project management (favourable)
  • Cultural understanding is essential and Chinese language skills are highly beneficial
  • Six Sigma/Lean/CI
